Ian Duggan crowned as Fox Motorsport dominate in Ginettas at Brands Hatch
Team work puts Dugganite back on the podium at GT Cup, Donington.
Ian Duggan sealed the Ginetta GT4 Supercup’s G55 Am title at Brands Hatch on a weekend of incredible success for Fox Motorsport that also featured wins for James Townsend and Liam McNeilly. The team from Maldon, Essex, celebrated five wins from the six races they contested across the GT4 Supercup and the Junior Championship as they finished the Ginetta season on the highest of highs.

Ian Duggan’s title success was confirmed with a fourth-place finish on Saturday evening; the Acclaim Contracts – supported driver having earlier completed a one-two finish in the class for Fox behind team-mate James Townsend.
The driver from Hockley, Essex, spent the majority of the opener with his chief title rival on his tail, but was able to relax when he crashed and brought out the safety car – something that created a scenario in which he would be crowned simply by finishing Race Two. With a second Ginetta title in three seasons for Duggan with Fox – adding to the 2020 GT5 Am crown – bagged, an opening-lap retirement on Sunday was inconsequential.
Ian Duggan said: “It feels amazing to be champion, especially given the level of competition, which is definitely higher than I experienced when I won the GT5 Am title two years ago. This one gives me more satisfaction for that reason. To think that I’d never driven a racing car four years ago and now I’m a double Ginetta champion is a bit crazy, but I thank everyone at Fox Motorsport as well as my commercial partners for supporting me all the way. There’s a real family atmosphere at the team and we’ve all pushed so hard to get this done. The mindset was quite simple in that I only had to beat Dan [Morris – title rival] once to have the buffer in the points, and when he crashed when he was on my tail in Race One it was more or less done.
What a great feeling.”
