Donington Park 2024 Results

The first round of the British GT to be held at Donington Park was always sure to be a dramatic event.

On the 26th of May, Ian Duggan and Gordie Mutch set out to secure another victory and build on the their past success at Silverstone last month, but the stormy skies seemed to forsehadow the series of unfortunate events to come.

Through a series of dynamic Mahiki Team strategy changes Car 20 *(Ian Duggan) were in first place in the first leg of the race but with constant changes to the weather, the heavens opened. Luckily Car 20 had anticipated this and kept on their wet tyre for the entirety of their first stint (leaving Ian in the car for over 1hr!). However the sudden and torrential rain caught out other drivers who had not changed out their slick tyre causing many of them to skid off the track. One red flag after another caused the race to be stopped and restarted.

This break in the momentum and a loss of time and laps ended with a lackluster position, finishing 6th in Pro/Am. This unfortunate race result has only made Ian, Gordie and The Mahiki race team even more determined to secure that victory in Belgium June.
